soon be approved by the president.

President Buhari is reportedly set to inaugurate committee
on minimum wage
The Minister of Labour and Employment said President
Muhammadu Buhari will soon approve the setting up of a 29-man committee to
engage organised Labour in negotiating a new national minimum wage for workers.
According to him, the committee’s report will be subjected
to the scrutiny of the National Assembly before government’s implementation.
While addressing reporters in his office after a meeting of
the technical committee, Ngige said the committee was yet to be set up.
He noted that the technical committee set up to work out
modalities for the review of the palliatives would soon submit its report to
the main committee.
On June 3, 2016 a joint technical committee of the Federal
Government and organised labour was inaugurated on palliatives and minimum
wage.
He also said that the main committee made up of eight
ministers and the Secretary to Government of the Federation, including Labour
leaders.
